I bought this car in Dec. and it has been stored in B.C. waiting for good weather. Now I need your help as I have spent many many hours considering what color to paint the car and which repro interior to install. Just when I felt I had made a decision, my wife vetoed me and she claims to know the best combination for the car. I will say that it can't have a black interior.
Please make your choice and I hope you help me prove her wrong. I will tell you what her choice is and mine after I get a good sampling of opinions.
Actually it is in primer and your right the first choice is not one I like. A black interior in Florida is worse than a black exterior.

Norm, you say it cannot have a black interior but the first listed of your choices has a black interior?!?!? hahaha I guess we know what YOUR first choice was, eh? Overruled by the wife, not that that has ever happened to ME, eh?
Primary reason I voted for white exterior is ... well, it is white now, so no big deal with door jams and trunk interior and underhood and all ... plus, a small car looks good in white, and ... in Florida, only masochists would paint a car a dark color ... and my race car was white
Norm - my first Chevelle when I was in high school (17 y/o) was a 1965 6 cyl, 2 door post, with cloth interior / my favorite color is Danube. - put chrome Cragers and white letter tires on the old girl, after first week / it had a light cloth interior, but we can improve that
^^ Repaint exterior in Danube blue (dark) and slap a red or blue (2nd choice) SD interior, in the convert.
- trim and chrome on car, will simply pop
- roof needs to be black plus add factory/repro green tinted glass (all around) >> stunning combination, for an A+
Seen on a 67 Camaro once, with white hood/trunk RS or SS stripes.

Norm take a look at Deepwater Blue with a Blue top and Fawn interior
For a short time I had a picture of my wife's BMW 325ci convertible as my avatar. I bought it for her last year for our 50th wedding anniversary. It is not new, she has always liked the blue cloth top they put on the convertibles up to 2006. In 2007, they changed those convertibles to hardtops that fold into the truck.
Well, her favorite for a number of years was the deep bright blue with blue cloth top and the sand beige interior. Her first choice was white with blue cloth top and sand interior. I found one with decent miles in St Petersburg and bought it last June. I stored it until we went down in Nov. and I got it to her for our anniversary. So, that color combination is out so as not to match the BMW while in Florida.
Wow, it is so subjective and everyone has their favorites. Some like raspberry red, some like gunmetal grey, some like clean white, some like screaming yellow or even flat black.
On that particular car I like the idea of dark blue with tan interior, but I think a quality hartz top in tan would really pop with the tan interior. Or perhaps Willow Green, which is normally so damn boring, would actually look great on that car with a black top & interior. The silver with red interior rendering above also looks very nice. I think a nice colour that is from a high-end luxury car is appropriate for the way that car shows. Trendy bright colours would get old. Clean white with either a black top & red interior, or with a blue top & interior would also look nice. Or perhaps a nice hunter green with dark green hartz cloth top & tan interior. Feeling rebellious and don't care about the neighbor? Red with yellow flames!

For some reason I lost the poll I created. My choice from the start was a dark turquoises that would complement the factory Nova SS aqua interior. I'm limited in interior colors because I do not know of a repro interior for the Canso or SD cars. The car has Nova SS bucket seats so the colors available in the Nova SS repro interior are red, aqua, blue, black and fawn. I don't see white being available.
When I told my wife my choice, she said no it needs to be red. I happen to think the aqua interior and the exterior colors, Artesian Turquoise and tropic turquoise, were under appreciated in 1966 and with a black cloth top they would give that classic appearance to the car. Dark colors and the cloth top normally appear that way to me.
So I have given in a little to my wife and allowed the possibility of black with a red interior. I saw an original 66 Nova SS years ago with a Marina Blue paint and white interior that was great but no white interior available.
