Rocker Trim Length

I finally decided to install the rocker trim on my '68 2+2. And so when I go to install the driver side it doesn't seem to fit. Turns out the trim is about 1/2" longer than the other. I actually got these both off the same car so somewhere down the road the drivers was changed. Anyone know what application would take the longer one. I thought maybe skirts. I checked and looks like wheelbases are all the same. And American Pontiac is more than 1/2". Well thanks to Fred (Tin Injun) having some extra trim I finished the job. Well almost. Still have to do the trim behind the rear wheels but that's another day.

I blowed up the pictures...

Wow, that is quite a difference. The profile is identical on both?

Yes Carl. The same. Even the screw holes line up. Just longer at the rear after the screw hole.

Here's a wild guess but was the shorter one used with wheel well molding and the longer one on a lesser model without wheel well moldings?
