Not sure about 64 but on my 66 there r numbers in the rear trunk weatherstrip channel and behind the fender in kick panel area,if I remember right. Think there might also be anothere 1 on top of the cowl under/near hood seal? If 1/4s have been replaced the number will be long gone.
I made an offer and the salesman said it is what they have in the car, $20K, so we will see if they are hungry for cash or not.
I also said $500 less if I have to fix the seats. Ummm, how hard is it to replace seat foam, and maybe springs? I am pretty sure I have never done upholstery except I have this vague memory of D-rings ...
And I will be sure to scrutinize the VIN plate and title etc., although since the car has been sold and sold again in the past 5 years, there should be no problems (and I am sorry for your nightmare Carl, and appreciate your warning me of the evils that may lurk [yes I do believe there is evil in this world]).

I just found an old 2009 e-Bay auction on an old drive with this very car. Let me post it in its entirety and let it add to the knowledge about the car. It was at a Roswell Georgia dealer and it appears to be running 1967-71 Pontiac wire wheel covers. They go on to give a little history of the restoration.

Description (revised)
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------- 1964 Beaumont Acadian Convertible (Canadian Version of Chevelle SS) Excellent Condition, RARE-RARE-RARE, NO RESERVE
You are bidding on an extremely rare 1964 Acadian Beaumont Sport Deluxe convertible. This low production car was built by GM of Canada in the Oshawa, Ontario plant on April 2nd 1964 and shipped for delivery on April 5th. It is one of only 128 produced and only one of 9 painted Goldwood Yellow. The number of surviving cars is unknown but can be reasonably thought to be small given the low production numbers and Canadian road salt. The remarkable survival of this car was partially due to its transfer to Florida where it was purchased by us.
The Acadian Beaumont Sport Deluxe shares bodies with the 1964 Chevrolet Malibu Super Sport. It has a unique diecast grille, special diecast taillights and decklid trim and expensive, heavy guage extruded aluminum lower body moldings along with special scripts and emblems. The black bucket seat interior is also unique, using the 1964 Pontiac GTO dashboard and gauges and special seat patterns different than both Chevelle and Pontiac.
The engine is a correct 283 V8-2BBL with no Chevrolet markings and factory-style, dual exhaust. The rebuilt transmission is a Powerglide with power steering. This car has been extensively disassembled and refurbished. As a northern car, it did have some rust issues. All bolt-on sheet metal (hood, trunk, doors and fenders) were replaced with rust-free original West Coast panels. Other metal work was completed with CARS correct reproduction components. The body was blocked multiple times prior to the application of the correct Goldwood Yellow finish. All work was professionally done to a high level of fit and finish exceeding OEM standards.
The interior was specially produced by CARS using the original patterns. The new black top, pads, well and boot were also supplied by CARS. All of the original rare trim pieces were polished. New brakes and tires were also installed. It has a set of rare period correct wire wheel hubcaps. The bumpers have been replated and a new correct tinted and shaded windshield installed along with new weatherstripping throughout. The car is in its final stages of detailing for customer delivery.
If you are looking for a truly unique Chevelle SS convertible-based vehicle, this is one car you may never, ever see again! A 1964 Acadian Beaumont Sport Deluxe convertible! There is no reserve on this wonderful car which will be sold this auction. Bid Today!

I just found an old 2009 e-Bay auction on an old drive with this very car. Let me post it in its entirety and let it add to the knowledge about the car. It was at a Roswell Georgia dealer [THE NEW HAMPSHIRE OWNER BOUGHT IT FROM THEM IN 2011] and it appears to be running 1967-71 Pontiac wire wheel covers [DON'T KNOW WHY, BUT THE ONES ON THE CAR NOW ARE DIFFERENT, APPEAR CORRECT FOR 64]. They go on to give a little history of the restoration.
The engine is a correct [BUT NOT ORIGINAL - THIS IS A 6-CYLINDER CAR] 283 V8-2BBL with no Chevrolet markings [NOT TRUE - VALVE COVER EMBLEMS ARE CHEVROLET, THEY SAY 'TURBO-FIRE'] and factory-style, dual exhaust. The rebuilt transmission is a Powerglide with power steering [NO - IT HAS MANUAL STEERING]. This car has been extensively disassembled and refurbished. As a northern car, it did have some rust issues. All bolt-on sheet metal (hood, trunk, doors and fenders) were replaced with rust-free original West Coast panels. Other metal work was completed with CARS correct reproduction components. [THE SHEET METAL WORK IS MENTIONED IN DOCUMENTS I GOT WITH THE CAR] The body was blocked multiple times prior to the application of the correct Goldwood Yellow finish. All work was professionally done to a high level of fit and finish exceeding OEM standards.
The interior was specially produced by CARS using the original patterns [BUT NOT ACADIAN, AS YOU POINTED OUT]. The new black top, pads, well and boot were also supplied by CARS. All of the original rare trim pieces were polished. New brakes and tires were also installed. It has a set of rare period correct wire wheel hubcaps. The bumpers have been replated [BUT THE REAR IS NOT ACADIAN AS YOU POINTED OUT] and a new correct tinted and shaded windshield installed along with new weatherstripping throughout.
Sure does look like my car, even the sagging driver's seat - except for wheel covers (I do like mine better). Can't tell if the lower side trim has been screwed on (badly) like mine, from the above pictures. Hood and rear bumper are what makes it a match for mine. The prior owner bought it from that dealer in 2011 (then when he sold it, after several other dealers, it came to Florida where I bought it).
Thanks for posting this, Cam - it is nice to have a little more history on my car. Interesting how the dealer fudges on description, implying it was originally a V8 car, not mentioning Chevelle parts, etc. - caveat emptor for sure, eh?

Oh - I found this picture (B/W photo only but it sure looks like my car) of sale from Massachusetts (New Hampshire owner had work done on the car in Mass., so that is likely where he sold it to the dealer there) probably to the dealer down here in Florida ...
Poor old girl has been around the block a few times, eh? But she has a good home now.
Tempting, they sure look nice (even half hidden behind - what, rocker trim?) ... not sure I am ready to cut into the rear bumper quite yet ... where would I get lenses?

Isn't the bumper stamping actually different where the housing fits in? On my 65 Acadian, it was a different bumper, not just 2 holes cut for the lamps.
