Maybe Todd ought to rename this site Comedian Poncho, eh?

I guess I will buy new springs (this is the car that is not supposed to be a project ...).

Well I guess anyone who ever owned a 1970 Cutlass knows all about banging their head on a hood. That stupid center section could easily knock you senseless if you were just doing a simple oil level check. I owned one till 1999 and that hood accounts for most of my brain damage.

Ouch

I used this company quite a few years ago.   They are listed as a US business but they also have a location in Montreal

I  shipped the old hinges with springs to them and they rebuilt them.   Returned them promptly.

Call the 1-800 number

http://www.sms-auto.com/Product-Menu.html

Very satisfied with the results years later.
