Well..last week I went up Island in the Canso, was just getting out of Ladysmith when I heard A TING off the front fender. Rock and 3 paint chips. Today I was heading back from the swap meet when an oncoming car drove over a piece of pex pipe lying on the road. Next thing I knew there were about 50 sharp pointy pieces heading right for me.Hit the front of the hood then skidded across the hood up my windsheild and over the roof!! Didn't want to get out of the car and look. Guess she's broke in now! Lucky I know a painter, think there will be a few more by the time summer is over. Can driver beaters year round without anything happening!! Just p'd off!!!
Sorry to see/hear that Jim. It's a tough call, pamper them, let them sit in the garage or enjoy (use) them? Just not the same enjoyment looking at them sitting in a garage though...

Guess thats why it's not a trailer/garage queen. S*&t happens, just a bummer when it's only been on the road for a month. Was thinking it was going to be a lot worse by the amount of crap flying my way. So not all that bad considering.
I feel the pain for you Jim. I was coming back from the Nova Nationals in 2006 and a dump truck passed me and a rock ticked off my quarter panel. Small chip in the paint and I was pissed but a repair was made when I got home. But it still bothers you as it takes a lot of time, $ and effort to rebuild them and try to avoid any mishaps!
Once you get the first one "It's Christened" & have to agree with Carl on not leaving it in the Garage. Have friends in Oshawa that do that, Back the car out of garage ,sit in lawn chairs & look at it!!!! Just "Paranoid" to drive it for fear of the "dreaded paint chip" But he's "anal" on his car & has had it for sale for ever, wants too much & has "way" too much in the car by having build "farmed out" to different hot rod shops to build it!!!

A little touch up paint in an old nail polish bottle keeps everything happy. Cars are meant to be driven, not just looked at. I'd rather a rock chip from 10 hours of cruising than finding one after hours of pulling a trailer.
Yup It sucks, but that's the life of a driver. At least you got a month. I think I made it a week when the 65 got painted first time around. Nice hunk out of the quarter just past the drivers door handle so I saw it every time I opened the door to get in. Can't see those chips at 60 going down the road. Car still looks and sounds great. I'm sure you can talk the painter into fixing them this winter.
Oh man, that is tough - hope you get through the rest of the driving season without more grief. Come late autumn, maybe time to go visit your painter friend.

Need some "protection" when driving Jim ......something like this.
Thanks guys, I'll tune her up in the winter along with a few other imperfections. Cleaned up all the plastic stuck to the bumper tonight, just glad none of it made it through to the rad. Was great to see ya at Ogden Point Rick,we'll have to go for a cruise so I can fallow you and hear that thing accelerate. Sounds unreal at idle must be a bit better when you get on it.

Just need someone to put it on once I'm in the car.
