A friend has an old Pontiac (1953) with a flathead six and 3 on the tree. The starter solenoid is toast.
Any idea where we could source a new/remanufactured one?
The starter bolts in from the front on the driver's side. The solenoid has two large copper terminals and one small post. The solenoid activates a bullet shaped plug that is connected to the bendix. Starter & bendix seem to be OK, but the solenoid is not.
Thanks in advance..
Still 6 volt ? Maybe go with a rebuild kit?
Most delco 6 volts solenoid are identical from that era.
PS: I think I got one, have to look though...
