60s Engine colours

From what ive read the colours were blue on Pontiac engines. What about Chevy engines inside Pontiac Beaumont? Also blue?

Most Beaumont owners will tell you an Acadian or a Beaumont  isn't a Pontiac (nowhere on these cars does it say Pontiac)

........just sold by a Pontiac dealer.

This engine name thread I put together years ago might interest you:

http://canadianponcho.activeboard.com/t26305684/engine-nomenclature-engine-decals-canadian-pontiacs-1955-197/

Pontiac engine names were used on Acadian and Beaumonts , they all got specific names in many cases too. Engine decals of big blocks both Pontiacs and Beaumonts had Arrow head designs incorporated into them as well. Lots of similarities in the models.

I believe 1969 and 1970 were the only years Acadian and Beaumont Engines shared names with full size Pontiac's.

The Engine name thread seems to have a few errors.

Thanks
Randy

So as stated the Pontiac and Acadaian and Beaumont engine names were the same in some years, thanks for that confirmation.

Merely stating that there are errors is not very helpful, please let me know where you believe the errors to be and after research they can be corrected. The goal is to have a useful and accurate resource. The thread was posted in March of 2009 and to date no-one has pointed out any errors so if there are some please let me know.

Ray

Our 68 SD has the original 350hp 396 in it still. The air cleaner decal says Astro jet 350hp.
