This is what she posted and she is very upset. She would like he moms car back I understand it was orange with a white vinyl top. Someone probably came along and offered enough money that they sold it on her Any info appreciated.  I have a new email. terrykrook@gmail.com.

I don't understand this story.   At one point you say the paperwork was forged, then at another point you say someone came along and offered enough money.

Sounds like she needs to call the police.

Sorry for the misunderstanding. It was stored at ex in laws place. Someone must have come along with enough money and they forged the papers

I suspect it'll end up in small claims court - and good luck with that (unfortunately).

The people storing it likely just claimed it'd been abondoned - or they'll say the storage fee exceeds whatever the owner thinks it's worth.

As I understand it, it's not easy to register s car in BC if you don't have the previous registration. Though there are likely ways to get around that. Probably left the province, or it's being parted out.

Could you locate it through CarFax?

Good luck!

Above they say the registration was in the car.

This person should go to the police with the VIN.  If it was sold to a scrap metal guy as mentioned, don't they have to report all VINs of cars they scrap?

Hopefully the car still exists and can be retrieved.

Is there a reason they haven't gone to the police?

The last one I scrapped here in BC last year they didn't ask me anything.  I was a little concerned because it was just bought as a parts car and I didn't still have a receipt.  They do keep good info on the people that bring the stuff in but once your registered it seems pretty straight forward.  I'd be concerned with this situation but police definitely need to be involved.

I suspect that there are some missing pieces to the story.
