todays acquisition and a story

i've told some folks, but not a lot but i was diagnosed with stomach cancer this spring. they got it all but i'm still have one bout of chemo to do next week.  what that means is i've reassessed stuff around the shop and been clearing out the shop of stuff. i haven't touched the 2+2 since spring because i really dont have the energy or stamina that being said i'll be back at it as soon as possible. i traded the 63 beaumont wagon for a 53 pontiac sedan delivery, because actually i always really wanted a mid 50's delivery. this thing is a mess its on a ford chassis and it wasn't a nice graft. it will be on the back burner till after the 2+2.

Sorry to hear of your cancer scare, but it sounds like you are planning for your future with a positive attitude. I believe attitiude plays a big role in healing in many cases, as well as changes in habits and diet.
The body looks pretty good on that delivery, but it still looks like a big project beyond what I would care to tackle.
Keep us updated on things, as we can give positive re-inforcement, which is also helpful when you need a boost! :)

Edit. First saw the photos on my phone. Now I see them on my laptop. It IS a big project! biggrin

Best Wishes Steve.  I lost my left kidney to the big C 20 years ago and I'm still going.  It is always a good thing to re-evaluate what's important in your life.

I had heard some rumblings that you weren't well Steve. Glad to hear you are on the road to recovery. The cars will wait, get well quick and then get at 'em!

Thanks for the update.

I was just thinking of you Steve wondering how you were doing. I'm relieved to hear you are on the mend!

I've also been wondering what you've been up to. That pretty much explains it. Glad to hear they figure they got it. Sometimes we win. I'm 26 years now big C free. Yes it certainly changes your outlook on things.
The delivery looks like an interesting project.
Take care and get at it when you can.

Glad things are looking up for you Steve. Old cars are always a good distraction during tough times. So Keep up the planning and dreams!

All the best to you Steve, you're real strong ! Cancer can be cured just like rust off our old tough cars ...

Also wish you the best Steve. My dad was operated on for the same stomach cancer 2 weeks after my first kid was born. He lived a full 20 years after and died at 87 from old age. It just took him awhile until he could eat full meals. Lots of little meals and then his stomach expanded and he was ok with a full meal.

Do you think that there is any chance that this wasa "special delivery" originally done as a funeral flower car, or something like that with the windows. It is a really neat car.
