Last chance for 66 Acadian Canso to remain in Canada.

Looking for a Canadian buyer for my 1966 Acadian Canso, one of 309 built with a V-8.  This is not a Sport Deluxe car.  The Canso had the top removed and most all internal components from an original 62-63 convertible were added to the 66.  New floor pans were also added to the car.  Last Canadian registration was 2000 so this car has not been driven on the road since the bodywork was completed.  The body is straight and has good structure throughout.  Before this car can be driven on the road, it will need a substructure similar to frame connectors in order to support the body with no top.  I have a picture of the substructure used on the 62-63 convertibles.  A 1962 olds cutlass, buick skylark, chevy nova could all be used as parts cars to provide parts or guidence for this build.  These cars have the same convertible tops and back seats as the 62-63 Acadians.

Aside from the convertible conversion, this car has a 300hp 327 from a full size car with 4 bolt mains.  I've checked the carb, it is a Holley 750, double pumper .  It has a Saginaw 4 speed with the orignal 10 bolt rearend.  All front suspension is stock Acadian Canso.  5 Lug 4 3/4 bolt pattern with drum brakes.

I have the Canso trim for the rear and quarter script.  In order to dress the car as a Canso, the grille would need to be changed.  Interior bucket seats are in good condition and can be used as Nova or Canso.

I currently have an offer in the U.S. of $8,000.  In order to sell to Canada, I would need $12,000 CDN and another $1,000 to deliver within 1500 km.

I have the GM of Canada docs and the original color scheme was Artesian Turqoise with a fawn interior.  I included a picture of the original color and a completed build.

Too bad, never knew you would have second thoughts with that car. When I went and looked at it for you my first thoughts were that's a car I could get excited about. I would have done it and then sold my 64. Too much has happened in between but my heart sort of sank when you put it up for sale the first time as of course I thought I could have gotten into that car for a pretty decent price with it being in my back yard. Good luck in whatever happens with it. It sure would make a cool car.
