NEED HELP FINDING SOURCE FOR POWER STEERING BOX

Hey there,

having some trouble finding a power steering box for a 1969 pontiac parisienne convertible with a 396 in it, If anyone has a link to what i should be ordering you would be a life saver.

I have found rebuild kits etc but this one is rotted pass the point of return in my opinion, I've been limping it along the last couple season but would like to have it replaced this spring so i can park it without having to appoligize about leaking fluid everywhere.

Welcome here, don't be shy to share some details about your car and pictures, we love pictures!

If you just want a stock replacement for your steering box, NAPA, AutoValue, stores like that carry them. Tell them it's for an Impala, which is the same chassis as your's, because if you tell them Pontiac, a lot of the parts catalogues don't know that the US Pontiacs and the Canadian Pontiacs don't share the same chassis. (You likely knew this already, but wanted to mention it just in case.)

27-6537 Cardone or 36G0103 AC Delco is what you are looking for if you want the stock replacement.

Yes, a 69 Impala chassis is identical to your's. Any time you need chassis parts, order for Impala. If you don't, you will likely end up with the wrong parts unless you find a parts guy who knows his Canadian Pontiacs in particular.

The steering box will also have a core charge as I just replaced one for my "A" body with a Cardone part#27-6509

Welcome and like Carl said we'd love to see photos of your Parisienne. I can't imagine many were made with the 396.

Suggest also replacing hoses at the same time, again, 1969 Chevrolet Impala parts.
