New Member... First Classic car.

Just wanted to say hi and introduce myself. I just got my wife a 1969 Beaumont... yes... I got it for my wife... please believe me... luckily she did. It is my first classic, but not the first car I have worked on/built.

The car needs some work but is not in horrible shape and I got it for a good deal. I think the biggest struggle is figuring out what is from where on this car. I was looking on Kijiji for a few pieces already and quickly realized that these cars are a bit of a hodge podge of parts from every corner of GM.

The car now has a 454 in it.

Well this is it. I looked on the sticky'd registry thread and didn't see my (wifes) car there...

Excuse the mess on the floorboards. I had to use about 100 lbs of floor dry to get it up the driveway and into the garage. Also, is that just a dash cap on top of the dash? It is gross, glued on, and needs to come off for me to re-wrap the dash...

Can anyone tell me what car this center console is for? I got it with the car and the guy claims it is for the car... it is not. It doesn't even fit it's so long. In really good shape though...

I can't see the console very well but it reminds me of a console that was used in the early 60's in either a Buick or Olds full size car (I forget which one exactly)

Welcome to Canadian Poncho.

Welcome Chris.

Yes, you find that Canadian Pontiacs, Beaumonts, and Acadians are a patchwork quilt, but a very nice patchwork quilt. There are some Beaumont guys on here that will answer a lot of your questions if you have any.

Yeah, it seems like this is the place to come to learn.

It's brutal. And yet I'm a little hesitant to rip it off as I fear it will destroy the dash. The interior of the car is really poorly done. The interior was originally that baby blue color, and at some point an owner simply sprayed it black. At the edges of things like the headliner, dash, A pillar trim, etc... you can see the blue poking out where the paint/dye didn't completely cover... What a terrible decision by someone.
