69 Air Cleaner Decals

When I first received my repro air cleaner decals I didn't put them on for a couple of years because they didn't fit the curvature of the lid very well, so I thought maybe I had the wrong lid.

But every original I've seen looks wonky too.  Is this what they all look like, or is something wrong here?  It's exactly how mine look, for what that's worth.  You can tell these are the originals because they're embossed, whereas the repros are flat foil.

Here's a couple from my photo archives that I believe to be original factory installs. They definitely look different from your's Dave. Looks like quality control and consistency of application was not a priority.

Is the Jet Flame the Quebec version, or a different year? Sounds sort of French...

Jet Flame branding was used 66 through 68 on Big Block Pontiacs.

I'd say we're looking at 3 different lids.   The 390 hp is like my 70.   The 325 hp one looks like the larger one on the 396 in the brochure photo above, and the 385 hp one looks like the flatter one on the 427 in the brochure photo above.

A couple years ago I sold a 69 335 hp LS1 air cleaner to John in NL, but I must have deleted the photos.

I got my lid from a 1969 Impala 427, and it seems to be the same as the top photo.
