I spent a bunch of time on the phone with an archivist that kindly went through their stats book trying to sort out how many of a particular model were built. Along the way I took some notes, so am sharing that info below. I don't really know anything other than what I put here!
For 1969:
632 Convertible 2+2s
With the L36, 768X less M40 cars = 10 (So 10 L36 cars with with manual trans)
Total MC1 (3 speed manual) production is 11 across Pontiac and Chev at the plant.
768 bodystyle plus 867 red interior = 4 made
768/37/67 = 28 made with manual trans
12 Manual 2+2s w/ all big blocks (LS1, L36, L66)
LS1 - M40 = 1 2+2 with the LS1 engine
L66 - m40 = 2 built
Total L36+M40 production in the 2+2 is 9 manual trans cars with 390hp engine (plus 1 LS1 and 2 L66 I think)
Less than 10 cars built with M20 & L36 (as above)
We could not arrive at any breakout of convertible. If there was an option code that always appeared (like power top, but that was standard) they might be able to look it up by that, but on the spot I could not think of an option. Bucket seats were available in the Grande Parisienne, but no convertibles, so I wonder if "Bucket seat cars" in the 2+2 convertible w/ 427 less TH400 could be looked up?

It kind of confirms what I remember about Canadian ponchos in my scrapyarding in the 70's and 80's; it seemed like 99% of them had a base 2bbl V8, automatic, hubcaps and an AM radio and power steering and nothing else.
So...I have the ONLY '69 2+2 with the LS1 M-40? I have been told before, that there were around 10 made. That is still not many, but 1 seems crazy.
No, you should read "LS1 - M40" as "All LS1 less M40", meaning all BUT one had the TH400 (M40) transmission I think. That's how most of these stats work, you take production of one (LS1) and then back out a particular trans to find the leftovers.
So in other words I believe there was only one LS1 with a manual trans in 2+2. 2 manuals with the L66, and 9 manuals with the L36. All of the rest were automatics.
You might notice that's 13 cars - but back out the one 396 car and you have the magic "Twelve 2+2s with 427 and manual trans" number from the Morley Brown letter.
From previous research they determined that "Less than 10 cars had the M20 and L36", and this morning I put that number at 9.
Still no breakdown of convertible only. I'd need to come up with an option to search by, like Power Top or something, but that's standard. Maybe F41 since that's only available on the 390hp car, but not all of them would have had it.
Cheers, Dave

These numbers were posted by 68SD back in November 2008. Not sure where the information came from. I would like to know how many 2+2 convertibles had the LS1. According to this, only 10.

Dave, you didn't happen to get any regular Parisienne info did you?
I still have the cowl tag from the red LS1 M40 convertible that I scrapped. I know the VIN but I never removed that tag from the car when I scrapped it, and I'm glad I didn't, someone would likely have it "back on the road" by now, if you know what I mean... (they would have offered me so much for the tags I would have caved in and sold them)
