A while back I had a thread for "What's this marker light" because it was squared off and no accomodation for side trim, but was not like the round ones I have on my 2+2. We decided they were probably for coaches (ambulances and hearses) and sure enough, found a couple of examples of them.
Now, however, I've found pictures of a late-production 2+2 with them. So I can't help but wonder if this was a midyear change. I got the rounded ones from a member here about 10 years ago, or at least one or two of them. The others are likely from my own blue 2+2 but I don't know the build date on it, and it's long gone.
So here's the two different ones:
Square:
Rounded:
So mid-year change, or is one of these incorrect, or ???
OK, I see the red car has round on the front. This BETTER not be as simple as "Square at the back and round on the front" and no one knew it! Mine, North's, the Gold 427 2+2 all have the rounded front and back. Wish I could see the other side of the red car to know if it's got square on both rear quarters... maybe one was an incorrect replacement at some time?
If it's this hard figuring out a 1969 Pontiac imagine what the NCRS or Packard guys have to contend with!

It was pointed out that the red car likely has a side-trim marker, not the square trimless marker - probably got hit in the back corner and they just took one off a Parisienne or similar.
So I guess if I wind up with the car, I'll need at least one marker light! Or I can start a trend with squares in the back
