It was built back in the days when a one ton was WAY under-rated.....
The deck was made and installed by Custom Engineering on the C30 cab and chassis....when it was brand new in 74.
GVW is 10,000 lbs.........The truck scales @ about 6200......and I'd say the 64 is about 3800 ballpark.....so I'm right on the $$$.
I've actually had over 7000 lbs on the deck....with no probs......Try that with anything NEW....and you'll bend the frame behind the cab....

'64 Parisienne CS "barn find" - last on the road in '86 ... Owner Protection Plan booklet, original paint, original near-mint aqua interior, original aqua GM floor mats, original 283, factory posi, and original rust.
Thanks for all the positive comments on my 'vert.....
It's a very respectable "driver/survivor".........Bought it in 2003
From April to Halloween.....it sits in my carport.....and every day that the sun comes out.....we put the top down....and drive it....that's the RULES.....
Had a respray....and a new top in 89........pretty much BONE stock.....other than radial tires.....still run the stock style single exhaust..........and the original 283/2bbl. with glide move it around quite smartly.....although it's getting tired.....
Next week....as soon as all the snow is gone......the engine is getting replaced..(with a FRESH 283 2bbl)..and front end comes apart for ball joints and control arm bushings....shocks,etc......My plan is to have it on the road again for Easter.
I consider myself very fortunate...to have those snow capped Golden Ears mountains as the view...... from my kitchen and dining room.....VERY inspirational...
Very nice vert, that colour top really suits the car. Most times I'm not a big fan of that colour, but with the vert with that top, it has class.
Somehow my 59 El Camino had a registered GVW of 13,500 KGS on the NS registration. I guess I could have legally hauled your 1 ton and the vert?
