Cool,  is looks familiar, i think another member may have owned it before you?

i am sure you will get your answer to the cowl tag from the 60 pontiac guys on here.

i would highly recommend getting the GM documentation from Vintage Vehicle services.

Thank you 409Safari, could you or can anyone else break down the underhood label/decal because the paint code L is for Honduras maroon but my wagon is

two tone with a white top and maroon bottom bit dont know if it was repainted along the way. also since quarter panels and floorpans are rusted through is there

part numbers in same book for those? Again thanks to one and all. 60 WAGGER

Since the tag only shows L, then your car left the factory all one color of maroon.  it was probably two toned at the dealer or later by an owner.  the floors will all be the same as a chevrolet.  they dont make specific wagon panels, but some of the 2dr and 4dr stuff will be close enough with a bit of mods,  some of the front bracing will be the same,  just make the rest.

just remember, you have a chevrolet wrapped in pontiac outer sheetmetal, so allways buy chevrolet parts, suspension, driveline,  floor, underhood, firewall, wiring, etc.

american pontiac stuff will not work

Well you have a big project ahead of you. as noted previously GM Canada Vintage Services can tell you pretty much all there is regarding assembly dates, options, and delivery to which dealer and province and so on. Also all of the mechanical's are Chevrolet, so there is not much you can't buy, including the electrical components and fuel system, including the gas tank. The glass would all be Chevrolet as well. The lower trim for the rear window is usually pretty rusted, and when I did my 62 wagon they were not available.   They are a nice car when they are shiny!  Hope you have fun with it.

First off I agree agree 100% but do have to mention that our wagon showed the code for only ermine white and in fact had a saddle tan roof.  When documented by Gm Canada they confirmed that it had a saddle roof too.  It's worth getting the package.  If you can't get them to send direct to USA pm me and I can have it sent here then forward it to you

MoboMac, what are we talking about here?, is it just getting it to be driveable in the streets( cause i dont plan on completing a full restoration in the near future) but you're on if its just getting it on the road and posting a video on youtube of the first test drive-my plans are to get rid of those rusty quarter panels/floor boards and get it running the first year to make it a weekend driver.

My Nomad was about 80% complete when I bought it.....but NO motor/trans......Appears to have been a 348  (3/8" fuel line)...and 3 on the tree..(Z-bar on frame)

Interior is mostly complete,,,but ROUGH...but dash is stripped/gutted....

My goal is to assemble/restore the dash.....go through the brakes.......and get new exhaust.

I have a decent running stock looking small block with a 'glide...that will get me up and running driving...

Body wise...its really quite solid....needs the usual 4 floorpan patches...but floor braces and rockers are really good...

The back end is very decent....other than lower rear quarter rust...and the spare tire well/tailgate jamb is good.....

Does your have a running motor?........interior?
