Good score.  Any idea what era that license plate frame is from?  It looks metal, from the 60's?

Super score. It's these little things that set some cars apart.

a friend of mine has a 66 GTO post car, he imported it in the early 2000's from California.  It was originally sold at AE England, a Pontiac dealer in Hollywood, documented by Pontiac Historical Services (PHS) in the USA.

I was going to the Pomona Swap Meet about 5 years ago, so he told me to keep an eye out for a license plate frame for his car.    I found a vendor that had a pair of them, but they were from the 50's and for the larger license plates in use at that time.   However, the vendor had a single frame from AE England back at his shop, and while he'd had it repaired and chromed, it still needed some finishing work.    It took me quite a while to get it out of him (he seemed to be quite absent minded) and mailed up to me in Calgary.   My buddy did some of the finish work on it, painted the lettering area, and proudly displays it on his GTO.

I've gotten to know another license plate vendor in the Irvine CA area, he has a number of rare license plate frames in his office, and some of the rare ones can get up into the thousands of dollars.   They seemed to be somewhat common in the 50's & 60's down there.   I don't remember them being that popular up here.

I'd say it is the right era for your car Pete. You got a nice '64 license plate along with the frame as a bonus.

That's awesome and so coincidental...  I was on eBay a couple of weeks ago and saw this one! Even though it is a Chrysler dealer, there is a lot of history of this particular individual and dealer here in this town and I am still finding out some of the things that went on with the dealer itself.... I got the plate with it as well...
