1950 Pontiac L6 Engine colour ?

Hello everyone,

Well the time it's coming close to starting my freshly rebuilt L6 engine.

I have a few questions, should I paint the engine before the initial start up? presently it is preserved with a film of rust inhibitor, which I was told will burn off during the initial start up.

Is this the right way to go?

Which is the correct colour? I have seen Green on some Pontiacs, but my original sales brochure shows the engines as a Golden yellowish colour? Which is right ?

You'll need to clean your engine if you want to paint it. Paint it before putting it back in the car (if not to late). The yellow Pontiac engine was there in booklet only. Our Pontiac engien were medium green.

Most of the Pontiac booklet showed yellow engine, I don't know why by the way.

hope this help

Fitz.

Thanks for the comments, I was hoping for a different result. I guess it's medium green
