Just signed in and went straight to this thread, obviously with the title I knew it was going to be bad news. So sad and sorry Pete, it really hurts seeing those photos and having met you over the years makes it all that more upsetting. I know you are a scrapper and I have faith that it will all turn out fine.
That is absolutely heart breading to have look at those pictures. I can imagine the pain of having to go through something like that. Hope you can pull it together and carry on with some other projects to replace those.
Oh man, I'm so sorry to hear this and I can only imagine how you must feel! I trust no one was hurt and you have the insurance to help make things right again. Take care.
Oh man, that is one of the biggest fears. It put a knot in my stomach just to open this thread. My sincere condolences to you.
A high school friend once had his project car destroyed by fire in the garage, but not being detached it was also under the livingroom and the house also suffered major damage.
Lets hope that you had decent coverage. Give it some time. Try to look on the bright side, you will be able to start over fresh.
What about tools and stuff? Can you salvage anything? So many tool collections are built up over a lifetime. Crap...
I remember starting my Chevelle in the spring and rolling it out of the garage. I looked under the hood and there was gas pouring from where the line threads into the carb. I killed the ignition at once and vowed to always have a fire extinguisher handy.

Wow. Gut-wrenching. I hope you and your home are okay Pete! All the best.

Of all the posts I've ever read here, none have ever struck me hard like seeing this one for the first time Pete. Shocking, then really sad for your loss. Hopefully things will work out.

Very sorry to read of your loss to see the pictures is even worst, it brings back our family memories of my wife's uncle who experienced the same ordeal. Best Wishes to you and your family in overcoming this tragedy.

I'm OK other than sore ribs when I had a fall trying to fight the fire, fire extinguisher wasn't any help, too far involved, took in a lot of smoke before I gave up and got the hell out!!! Fire chief believes it was the fridge [beer] or stereo that caught the bench on fire[that's what was burning when I went in] working with 3 claims with 2 Insurance co. So far cars are no problem [total loss under 19a policy] House insurance covers garage and contents, daily driver policy covers the car trailer,[melted the tongue right off it!!] delivered construction fence yesterday to block off site so pooch can go back out in yard. If this had happened on Tues. Tommy would have been in there [doggie door] when I went to Toronto!!! So far new insurance companies are doing their thing, Fire was so hot it scorched the paint off my storage trailer for snowblower & melted the tail lenses!!! 20' away. Thanks for all your messages, means a lot too me Pete

I believe we first met at the Uxbridge Show and Shine that was at the hockey arena.
I felt that I had met a true friend who was very genuine, We always managed to chat for a few minutes when ever I showed up to a show. I made a point of checking all of your posts here.
Glad no one was hurt, its all replaceable is easy to say but hard to do. A fellow near here got out of a fire with just his nightclothes on, lost everything, including his wallet and his dog.

Sorry to hear about even more pain come you way. Take care and rest, Pete - about all you can do with broken ribs. Just lie down and think about what car you want next, eh?
