Buddy listed a diff for a friend , was in a vega race car ... Long story short .. I bought it .
It's been narrowed up 55" to the outside.
Unfortunatly , the ID stamp is right were the tubes were welded .
Casting number on the center section seems to be a partial .. 385298 , couldn't find the date cast code?
Loaded with a 3.07 posi
and the brakes are larger than I'm used to seeing ?
Pic is of a 68 Camare drum for comparison.
Thoughts ??

1966 Grande Parisienne, 396 1 of 23 factory air cars
I'll check the gear set later for codes.
The center section has no ears cast onto it for the upper arms , that I can tell.
If you want to part with it I might be interested. I have 3.07's in the 454 Parisienne, but wouldn't mind upgrading to posi. I have a spare diff that I could put the gears & posi carrier into.

No signs of the cast ears, so I'm assuming it had perches, but have been cleaned off for the 4 link mounts.
I'll look closer in the daylight ...
i just am intrigued by the numbers ..
Gerry's pics look to be the closest for casting # , 66/67 nova . If that was the case,,, rare piece to have been cut up ..so to speak !
