Hi all,
I'm new to your site and looking for information in regards to valuation on the 67 Beaumont SD.
I have one SD 396-325hp car that needs a complete restoration. I also had a 67 sport coupe that came with everything an SD had except the 396. 283 (yup?!)12 bolt, buckets, console, heavy duty sway bars, extra rear end support, big block hood, etc, etc, And yes, this was confirmed from GM Canada for anyone doubting this. It also needs a complete restoration.
I'm just wondering the value on such cars. The SD needs extensive metal work, engine, trans, interior, and the 283 car needs about the same except the floors, trunk and frame are great.
Any input would be appreciated.
I also have an opportunity to purchase 4 more SD cars that need to be restored as well, but they're legit SD cars. These ones are in one collection in a farmers field. I'm located in the maritimes.
Thanks
Jamie
THE 67 SD if it has the original drive train .... all so what colour makes a huge differance to me i would say 20,000 for both cars will cost 40.000 to restore the 67 sd just my 2 cents
Are you asking what they worth in their current condition or restored? Your 283 car, are you saying it is an SD as well? It was common to have 283 powered SDs built in August to December 66. Has a lot of heavy duty options, it would never have come with a BB hood. Is the 396 car a 4sp? Does it have the original engine?
I'll throw my opinion out on restored selling prices: mid to high 20s for the 283 car, and low to mid 30s on the 396, add $3k for 4sp
Looking for a "ballpark" current condition value. Neither has any drivetrain. I think the document from GM Canada says the 283 car is a sport coupe, I'll have to check, but it could be an SD. It was ordered with the big block hood as a separate add on as well, along with all the other good stuff. It was a 4 speed car as well.
The 396 car was an automatic. The owner had the CE warranty motor in his garage when we got the car, but he wasn't willing to let it go at that point. We checked on it a couple months later and his son put it into a mud truck, grenaded the motor, and chucked it out. Only thing salvageable was the intake. Crank split, which threw parts everywhere, broke the block and drove parts up through the heads as well. Had pics to prove it...wish I could show you, must have been singin' at 10,000 rpm by the damage!!!!
Anyway, just looking for a general idea of value. I know that no one can give a solid number but something to gauge if they're worth restoring or selling.
The other cars that I can get are in better shape.....and one is a legit 396, 4 speed convertible, complete #'s car...no joke. Old hot rodder farmer from back in the day that had TONS of classic muscle cars. GM's, Mopars, Fords you name it he had it.
Thanks again
Jamie
10,000 for all 6 cars, that averages to 2000 per car, some may be worth more, some may be worth less(or is that worthless). And if you think there may be some that are worth more, they would have to include official paperwork from GM historical to prove options, BB, 4spd, 738, etc.

Welcome from PEI. The convertible would be the one to restore as far as an investment is concerned and possibly getting your money back if you ever sell. Second would be the BB SD. A positive return on investment would only be if you can do pretty much all the work yourself. Post pics if you can.
I'll get a few pics of the cars and the documentation to post. The cars are located in Pictou County Nova Scotia, so I'm not too far away from you Todd!!
James, make sure you blank out the last few digits of the VIN when you post the documents. Nice to play it safe.
Welcome here and I can safely say a lot of us love seeing this kind of stuff! It's getting so much harder to find original unrestored stuff like you are talking about.

Thanks Carl,
I figured I'd have to blank out the last few numbers due to some not so cool individuals that may try to pull a fast one!
My father (72 yrs young), my brother, and myself are gearheads through and through.
We have lots of GM projects and runners currently in our stable, but the two Beaumonts are the only Pontiacs to date. I'll post some pics when I get a chance but here's a list of the project cars:

Well Jamie, I have been involved with Beaumont's and the Beaumont community for around 5 years, and I can say that your going to upset someone if you continue to call a Beaumont a Pontiac. LOL
As far as I am concerned, the value depends on who is looking, and what to they know and want. I bought my project car in Alberta and paid a lot more than values mentioned in this thread.
Again welcome to the site
Dale

Hi Carl,
The "project cars" range from 'should be restored' to 'pretty much parts cars'....but i'm not spending that long on restoring them!!! In reality, we'll more than likely start liquidating the 'projects' and thin down the herd. Really want to find a '55 Chev 2 door for my dad. He had one back before my time, and it's the one that he's always wanted back but could never find the right one. I'll keep everyone updated as to if and when the cars come on the market and see if we can find new homes for some of them.
Cheers!
Jamie
Thanks Dale,
Haha!! I've seen that from older posts from members getting their panties in a knot about what brand should be associated with the Beaumonts, so I'll consider myself warned :)
As far as the cars themselves, well they're project cars and need extensive work to be brought back. We have boat loads of parts for Beaumonts and Chevelles, but again they need time and money. If the right person came along and wanted them then they may go sooner than later. We'll see. But if a '55 Chev comes up for sale that i could get for my father then everything may be sold! Who knows. They would be hard to let go because there's none around, but realistically I'd rather see them on the road and at shows then sitting in our lot under a tarp because we've had them for over 20 years. I'll keep everybody posted about them.
Cheers
Jamie
