Planning a trip "Heading East" with the Canso. AGAIN!

Soooo...looks like the Canso will be ready for a road trip this summer! Have a few things to button up in the next couple of months (torque converter, vapour locks) then should be good to go!! Looking at 3rd or 4th week of Aug but will confirm next week. Will have 9 days to get to Manitoba and back with the whole family. Not Hotel people so looking for cabin rentals along the way. Thinking I should be booking soon with the summer rush. Would be great to meet and stop at some members towns. Can post or PM if you know of great places to stop and see along the way. Will have something I can cross off my bucket list that my wife didn`t put on it!!`Don`t worry Dan...I know you have more than four cars so thats more than enough back seats for the night!wink If your all booked, I`m sure I could get a spot on Carls hoist, I`ll just tell my wife shes wont be floored with the view.

Planning a trip east with the Canso. AGAIN!

What makes you think Stevenson would like to see the looks of you?
You best stay west of Manitoba.

Hey, did you change your name to Johnnee D? evileye

Please let us know your plans Jim. At minimum we'll have to do a CP coffee break. And yes, the hoist will certainly be available if you happen to need it.

When I read East, I figured you meant East... like the East Coast..... past the Middle East of Ontario! (lol) Do you know what highway? The #16 or #1 or are you doing the loop...

I plan on doing the West Coast in the Wagon to complete the cross Canada tour I started last year when I went back to Newfoundland...

As long as you know he can't cross the Manitoba border. And if you're with him, they'll confiscate your passport, no questions asked. Best to travel separate.

 Carl

You must know that the news media has recently been reporting how porous the southern border is and how open they've been to those choosing to cross. You'll have to keep your guard up.

Yes, that's all happening 25 minutes from me, right at the crossing I always use when I go south.

One of my co-workers lives about 3 miles from there. He goes for breakfast at a local restaurant before work every day. A number of times in the past few months some people have walked in and asked someone to call the authorities saying they are refugees and are seeking refugee status in Canada.

But no worries, that border crossing is secure if JD tries to cross. There's some top secret security in place to ensure he has NO chance of coming in to Manitoba.

That's the cool part of being in the middle. We get to choose whether we are down east or out west depending on what suits us better.

Don't need a passport to get off the Island....just a bag full of money!!! Another ferry rate increase in April!! Part of the reason for selling the property, used to go up 5x a year..then 4...then 3. Little own the rest of the trips swap meets/relatives. Over 120.00 each way and still sit for a couple of hours because of back log,oh and if over length 6.50 a foot and going up! RV or boat behind,300.00 each way or more.Had enough of BC ferries! Will go when I have too. Rant is over.
