396 was sold out of Spencer motors in New Glasgow,
283 was sold out of Motor Mart in Yarmouth.
We got the 396 car from the original owner. My dad was hunting down by our camp and spotted the green at the edge of the tree line(snow was on the ground), not thinking much of it. Needless to say he finished his hunting trip when he walked up to the car.
283 car was an extra one that Leah Palmer from Wentworth had with her 396 car. Used it for the SD Trim to complete her car apparently. We bought it from her ex husband who had it parked in a gravel pit in Tatamagouche area in NS.
For those that don't know who Leah Palmer was (RIP- pretty cool chick), but have seen the car or seen pictures of the 396 convertible sunk into the ground WAY beyond saving, her sister owns the convertible and now has Leah's SD 396 hardtop car.

Wow   when you mentioned the convertible sunk in the ground    That car was from Sackville N.B.   sold at J.E Weldons   original owner was John Henderson (Henderson Drug store)  was butternut yellow new  He was in a accident (hit a child) and car was re-painted a darker color

I had a buyer for that car (10 years ago)   offered her 10g for it sitting in the mud (buyer would have paid me 12g)  She was going to "fix it"     small world

Here's a few pictures we snapped on the way home from Maine snowmobiling last March 20 2016.

Cowl tag and pillar tag are gone, so somebody has a retagged body out there somewhere that's not legit. The Palmer's are still the legal owners to that  VIN so technically they could do a DMV search and find that they may own a finished car....with their ownershipblankstare

PS. The old chrome reverse wheel that was on the trunk was still there, and was there 25 years ago when I first saw the car...but at least they're going to fix it!!!........not in anyone's lifetime!!!
