Looks great, like that the firewall is red again! BBC just looks right at home between the fenders!

Looking good biggrin   I think I have some GM black wires here for it...     Is is a Chevy or Canadian Pontiac engine?

Thanks guys. It's a combination actually. 454 40 over botton end with 66 closed chamber 396 heads.
Lots of goodies in there too.

Sounds like a great way to go, more cubic inches always makes sense! What are your cam specs? Any plans on taking it to the track? I have an almost stock 402 in mine, open chamber heads, summit cam....that i wouldn't mind a bit more hp from, but I don't think I'd waste $ on the 396 platform. I'm probably better off selling it as a nice running small bbc, and starting with a 454 bottom end.

I went with an xe268 flat tappet from comp cams. The headers are hooker 2 inch and crane roller rockers, an air gap intake just fits under the hood with a three air filter. It's the nervous time now just needs antifreeze tranny oil and a warmer day. No plans on going to the track but never say never.. beautiful car you have.

Thanks, the xe cams get good reviews... Did you break it in already, or are you breaking it in in the car? Should be a solid combo, and it will have a smile factor!

No hasn't run yet lol.. the block was rebuilt about 5 k ago. So it's just the cam really. Heads have been updated with hardened seats and new guides etc. Soon as I get a warmer day I'll get it fired.

The Pistons are dished with about .020 thou p2d and compression of mid 8s stock rebuilt truck block. So with the closed chamber 98cc heads should have a low to mid 9s compression. It's the best I could get without changing the Pistons and it keeps some part of it a 66 lol. When did you restore your 67

My car was done in '87-'89... I bought it when I was 14, did the body, engine etc myself and had it painted at a shop....started driving it at 16... And haven't changed it much since, just engines a few times.

Come to think of it, I should find my bill of sale...Its probably my 30th anniversary with the car next month or so...
