The brushes and bearing kit? Neither of those *seem* to be the problem. Is there another type of rebuild kit?
Getting it rebuilt professionally is $150+ ...
I think I am going to buy a used "ran when parked" starter and swap parts until it works...or I explode. Local mechanic neighbour I found on kijiji. I will keep you posted.
Have someone that can check armature on a growler? Have one, but I'm a long ways away! Can do some simple tests yourself if you have a multi meter. Might save you a buck or two. Can also check the fields(can youtube it). Also check bat voltage while cranking, you have all good/clean connections? Did this just start, has motor/bat been sitting a long time? Don't want to buy a starter if thats not 100% of the problem.
