Just throwing this out there to see what you think? I am currently restoring my 68 Parisienne, total nuts and bolts project.
This will not be a stock car as far as running gear goes, motor is a 455 around 520hp with a TH400 behind it and a 9" rear end.
The exterior and the interior of the car will be original apart from the Hideaway lights, grille that I have sourced. Body paint will be a dark gunmetal grey.
Also thinking of putting Rally S rims on it.
I was thinking of putting on small scoops either side of the bonnet like the Firebirds/GTOs or similar, nothing crazy or aftermarket ugly sticking out of the middle, its not a drag car.
What do you think? Will it detract from the look or compliment it, or add no value to the appearance at all?
I know its a personal choice but all suggestions/opinions welcome, no offence taken.
I'm guessing you'll encounter many challenges in doing your restoration - doing the Canadian Pontiac's is tough enough, let alone at your southern location. I wouldn't bother adding more complications to your already tough project.
The 455 sounds like a nice stout engine. The colour choice you picked I think will look really sweet on that car especially with the addition of GP hideaways.
Grafting in a set of bird or goat hood scoops would look sinister. A doable but tough job to execute.

Will definitely keep you all informed of the build with photos just stripping it all down myself at the moment, coordinating all the parts I will need, what to send off to get re chroming and waiting for goodies to arrive from Tin Man Auto, so lucky to have found Fred Paget and Dave Paige that had the parts I need to complete this, then in the middle of July (middle of winter here) it goes to the body shop

Around these parts everything has a hood scoop on it, and I wish I was kidding. One of the mouth breathers I work with has an 80's F150 that he just added an L82 scoop on. I literally slapped my forehead when I saw it. I think the only thing that could be worse is a Shaker scoop on a Crapalier.
Anyways, I'm not a fan of any scoops other than factory, and functional. In my experience most hood scoop cars have nothing else going on...all show. I'd rather see a smooth hood with 600+ hp. Again, that's my opinion. Ultimately it's your car, build it how you like it and be proud of it!
