1964 Catalina bumper.

Hi,

I recently had a fender bender and am in need of a new front bumper, unfortunately icbc won't pay to have mine repaired and re-chromed.  Does anyone have one for sale and does anyone know if a 64' Parisienne bumper will fit a Catalina?

Thanks

Seann

The American bumper may have a difference in the bolt location to the Canadian......(not sure)

That seemed to be the issue in other American/Canadian Pontiac bumpers.

Might want to try calling the Tin Man on the island for a Canadian Pontiac bumper......he's closing shop at the end of June.

Maybe worth the trip.

Quotes were around 3G's to straighten and chrome, icbc said that when a part is no longer available to buy new they are only required by contract to give the dollar value of when that part was last sold.  Which is who knows how much and when.  They said it was the same for everybody, so beware when you are insuring your vehicle.  Initially they offered me $550 then up'd it a bit after I complained.  Told me I had to find my own bumper, so hear I am.  Tried the Tinman and he wasn't sure if Parisienne parts fit so told me to try here : )

I know the bumper brackets are totally different Parisienne to Catalina (different frames), the bumpers look identical, but I'm not a 100% sure they are the same.

Dave (Tinman) will let you try it out for fitment, I'm sure. Are you on Van Isle?

Let us know how you make out.

Us pontiac bumper front and back do not line up to the holes. I am told the front it easy to spot as the USA version has verticals ribs where the plate is located. Try franks pontiac parts in California. He ships. Not sure about your province but here in Ontario if you have the right coverage and stand your ground on a reasonable solution they will pay.

I'm on the mainland so was hoping to find out first if they fit before I make the trip to the island.  Took a look at Franks Pontiac, great site!  Unfortunately no bumper for me right now : (  I'll keep searching
