1966 L72 & L78 Holley 780 Vacuum Secondary 4 Barrel Carburetor GM Part # 3885067 List 3246

This is a 1966 Holley 780 vacuum carb. The #'s on the air horn are 3885067EE List 3246 and 173 which I think is the date. The carb is missing a couple of small fabricatable parts, also the choke plate. On an L72? Anyway, the throttle shafts move and it seems to be in good working order other than needing a kit as it has sat on a shelf for 30 years. Untouched in all that time, the colour still looks pretty good.

The #'s say it's for an L72 425 hp 427 or a 375 hp 396 so it should be right for either that very rare Beaumont or maybe a big block fullsize 2 dr sedan if you're building one.....

Asking $200.00 plus actual postage.IMG_2585.JPGIMG_2586.JPGIMG_2587.JPGIMG_2589.JPG IMG_2584.JPG

Agreed. There's one on ebay right now for $185 US (making this one a better price) and the one on ebay is for parts only...

A slight thread derail on my part but thanks for the decode. I didn't know what that number meant, other than it was some sort of date code.

Yes, Thank You 2drpost for the decoding information. That coincides with the lore passed along with the carb that it has sat on the shelf on a Winnipeg GM dealer's shelf for many years.

As OldGoat continues his liquidation, there could be more treasures like this. He's been a friend of mine for about 35 years and I've come to realize the term "pack rat" would be an understatement! (Sorry Jerry.....)
