Interesting 409 car for sale at the Tradex

This 63 Parisienne convertible supposedly has it's original 409 sitting in it. Car was actually fairly solid. The old usual best offer up on the sign. image.jpg

Wow!

Gotta be one of less than 10, don't you think? Certainly would want to make sure of it.

Any bet$? High Teens?

The one on here from Quebec was 1 of 2, a 4 speed 63 2 door HT. This one would be very rare too.

They were posted on the drivers door. I have seen a lot worst and with the rarity it would be worth the effort.

Being a vert I was expecting to look inside and see the open ground. A lot more solid than I thought it would be. Great, rare project. Would be fun to bring this one back to life.

Hi, has anyone here laid eyes on this old girl, is she worthy of a purchase and a restore?

Guess most important is it the real deal? I am here in Calgary a little too far to go just to and see it.

Any Canadian Pontiac car guy information feedback would be awesome.

Thanks

With it's pedigree, if true, it certainly sounds like a worthy candidate.

All the guys that have posted here have seen the car but not sure how much anyone checked it out. I knew I wasn't buying it so gave it the 3 minute look. As far as restorable I'd say very much so as I've seen much worse scooped up. Like Jim said the floor was even mostly there.

Pretty much the ultimate 63 Canadian Pontiac, short of it being a stick.

It would be great to see it revived and a shame to see it parted.

You would think with the pedigree it would remain intact though, the price would be too high to part it out.

A vert with an intact floor is pretty solid. Most verts leaked, so most verts were rustier than a car with a real roof. It looks like a pretty solid car unless it was full of bondo.

Funny..my wife always thinks I'm weird for lying on the ground looking under cars and yet this one I didn't!hmm The floor is patchy(some rust holes) but the trunk wasn't open so hard to tell about that area. Lower 1/4 were shot and the upper wheel wells looked gone. Outer rockers looked good, but inners? All in all looked to be a fairly solid start for a project car. If it was me and being the car that it is, I think regardless of how good the floor/trunk area was I'd replace them both along with bottom section of 1/4's and wheel wells. Didn't look too deep into it so just going from memory(which isn't all that good!). Maybe give the guy a call and ask a few questions(phone # is in Jerel's pic) If still interested maybe someone from the mainland can check it out for you? Would be a full and major resto but still worth doing..just wish I didn't have soooo much on my plate! If you do inquire and decide no, maybe pm me...still thinking about it.  Thx Jim

I did notice the production number but didn't  pay a whole lot of attention to it. If my memory serves me it was in the 2k range. I would assume that would be for verts.

Oh I wish but I'm afraid my project car days are over. Life has tossed me a bit of a curve ball that makes project cars nothing more than a dream.

Without having seen the car, that doesn't seem totally out of control for price, does it?

My friend is extremely knowledgable in cars and the numbers and I can vouch this is legit. If anyone is interested I can get you more info.
