Thanks for posting something, but I can't see it on any of my devices. I thought the '66 and '67 shifter handles are the same but not '65? If anybody can clarify, please do. Thanks.

the 65 - 66 Full Size Chevy Club

Thanks for the pic Marty. That isn't the handle I'm looking for. If anybody knows the whereabouts of a correct bench seat Muncie shift handle for 65-67 B body (Example "C" - see chart provided by Carl above) please let me know. I'm still in the hunt!

.......I'll check with the usual suspects.......

I'm not disagreeing but I've always kind of enjoyed the stock shifters in the 67 and down with the trigger on them. However, I've been lucky and had a couple of good ones, not all worn out.
I will be the first to admit it takes more skill to powershift them than a Hurst though! All part of the fun...

......hey Carl - do you remember back in 66/67 GM sold rebuild kits for the Muncie shifters? Consisted of new plastic bushings and
new rubber grommets for the tower.........working at Don Howson in Agincourt, On I replaced a bunch on 1 and 2 year old cars.
Tightened them up a bit but when warranties ran out many were switching to Hurst including me in my 63 Vette. I have the orig shifters for our 66 and 67 cars and agree they look great but both now run Compy's. The orig shifters were famous for breaking the reverse lockout wire but I have devised a method to repair it using picture hanging wire and electrical auto wire connectors.

I only started at a GM dealer in 80 and I think by then all those shifters had become Hursts!
I've driven many miles on those trigger shifters and never broken a cable but I hear it's common. I like that idea of making repair cables. If you want to do a tech story on here some time, I'd be all ears and I'm sure others here would be too.

You guys are talking about the Muncie shifter assembly, not the shifter handle- correct? I have a Hurst shifter assembly that accepts a bolt on handle. I'd like to bolt a correct '65-67 B Body bench seat style shifter handle to the Hurst assembly. No problems there - right? Anybody have one of these handles for sale? Thanks again everyone.

...that's right John.....the orig shifter bodies were bad but using a Hurst body and a stock handle should be best
of both worlds.........ensure the Hurst shifter body is a Competition Plus as there were others made

Thank you BJ. I sometimes have to double check and confirm that I actually know what I think I know! This is the shifter I have. It says Competition Plus but I can't identify online any of the numbers on the actual unit. Does this look right to you?

.......yes sir that is the hot ticket.....no better shifter body out there for daily driving and some passes down
the track.......we ran a similar shifter in a 55 Chev Mod Prod car in the 70's that ran high 12's
the second pic is interesting that you can plug the shifter into a wall outlet.......wow......you learn something
new everyday..............
