I managed to get back to the Okanagan for the weekend, and get to this show that I've missed for the last few years. On the way in I passed this cool guy cruising along in his recently repowered ragtop. Too bad I missed seeing him while at the show!
The lake is still very high and there are sandbags all along the shore. The SS Sicamous is floating for the first time in 40 or 50 years, and just about every dock is under water. Nevertheless, registration sold out at 750 cars, and there were a few hundred other cars parked in spectator areas.
Forgot to post the high water photos. The dock in the second photo is actually under water, but the railings are above. The statues of the children are supposed to be well above water. Someone put life jackets on them!
Great job as usual there John with the pictures. Kept my eyes peeled for you and unfortunately didn't see you. Pretty easy to get missed with that venue being stretched out along the lake like it is. Probably has to be one of the best shows ever including weather and maxed out for the cars they can handle. This car hobby is still alive and well. A real good representation of our type of cars from the forum here. I loved the work that went into that barbeque, how cool would that be to have rolled up to your place for an event. Enjoyed the couple hours of driving and even left the top up coming home as the sun was pretty intense. Glad you could make it back to your old stomping grounds.
