When I had the a/c installed they cleaned up some wiring under the dash.
I.run with the full headlight system ... goes back to thrashing back roads In my rallying days.
The warning buzzer got taken out and since I have had to boost the car about 6
Times.
Anyone know of a source for one of the buzzer that hooks into the headlight circuit.
Had to buy a new set of 16 foot cables.
Cliff
I had left the headlights on too many times and that toasted the battery.
I had boosted the car about 3 times as the battery was flat. The amp gauge showed 14.5 charging. Would start ok after a short run but leave it overnight and it wouldnt start. Finally pulled the battery and put it on the Battery Tender overnight and in the morning it indicated that it had a full charge.
Installed the battery in the evening without starting the car and later the next morning the battery was flat again......
Looked up on The source web site and found a unit that I thought would be loud enough. it is...
Had that installed today along with a new battery.
The system should a very minimal and acceptable draw so the system was ok.
Thanks for the suggestions. I can now sleep at night....
Years ago when I had a 70 Biscayne I installed an automatic headlight switch. It worked well. Took about 10 minutes to install. The headlights would come on automatically with the ignition and stayed on for a user-adjustable amount of time when you turned the car off. The only issue I had was people telling me I left my headlights on when I got out of the car! I assume there's still something like that available today.
Cliff, the other thing you could do which I never thought to mention is put a relay in to turn on your headlights when your key is on aka daytime running lights, 60's version. That would be simple enough to do.
