wife`s HHR was only 7 days old with 175 km on it when we got hit with a hail storm. 100s off dents the worst being the front hood. The guy I hired was from the Montreal area and he was a dent & hail damage guy. a miracle worker but that said the metal is so thin compared to our old cars.
A good paintless dent guy, is worth their weight in gold / but I expect, all not created or trained equal.
The fella I used a few years ago, was initially auto body trained by the old lead & metal masters @ Ford Talbotville. - 26 years experience, in the Assembly Plant...until it closed, so he went into business for himself - his attention to detail, is second to no-one...he has passion, for his work - he understands how metal flows, stretches & shrinks...like an Art BTW - many body shops call up these PDR experts, as it is a very cost effective way to save costs on a repair.
Paul removed a nasty deep dent on wife's Volvo wagon rear quarter / the at fault lady from other vehicle, paid up. Sons Honda Civic was hit in a Tim's parking lot & the door was dented & slightly into the side impact door bar.
^^ Both tricky jobs, that combined took approx. 6 hours...end result was close to flawless & most affordable.
I've got Paul lined up again, next week, to work his magic on a Toyota RAV4 & Lexus RX350...door dings.
- he even took out the small dents on my former neighbors 1964 Impala / the trunk lid skin, came out laser straight
- and he likes old cars

I've had good luck with them. My wife's Sebring convertible had dents in both rear 1/4 panels. The fellow I used was also trained at an auto plant and left to do his own thing. As mentioned above dealers use them all the time. You can buy the tools at Eastwood and teach yourself.
Also, while a bit off topic as this pertains to upholstery/vinyl repairs there's a mobile company called Fibrenew that dealerships use all the time for leather/vinyl repairs. There was a big split in the vinyl on the seat back of the 1960 Catalina I owned. I had Fibrenew do the repair and it was invisible. They have franchises all over Canada. They will come to your house to do the repairs.
We had an issue where at our old house we had to back the convertible under some industrial racking to have enough room. While away camping on a humid weekend we returned to find the glue on an alternator box let go and an alternator let loose and landed on the trunk of our convertible denting it in three places but not scratching it. We took it to dent wizard who made it all go away but had a heck of a time doing it and destroying tools to make it happen because of the thickness of metal. But he did it for us. Have them on newer cars and nice work. Even a crease on a body line on my old 85 grand marquis and made the problem go away.
