MOTOR FEST Stoufville, Ontario Car Show. Saturday September 9, 2017.

I took in the annual show Motor fest car show with my 57 Pontiac on a perfect car show kind of day. There was another 57 Pontiac there as well that just made my day. Check out the rides. Cheers.

I popped in while visiting a friend in the area. Great spot for a show and great weather.

I was surprised that the attendance was a little low this year. Don't know why.

Literally saw these cars in a convoy on Queen Street Tonight at 5:00 pm heading westbound between Bay and University. For those not familiar with Toronto that stretch is at a standstill from 4:00 to 6:00 pm and just inches along. No idea where they were going but these cars were sure cool in among the late model Teslas, Cadillacs Mercedes, Audis and BMW's.

Attendance likley due to the $15 entrance fee. 10 of us that have been going for years boycotted it!!!! Been "FREE" ever since they satrted it but a new group took over this year and "whacked" the fee!! Sorry I'm not spending that to show my car!!!

The other '57 doesn't have Dagmars like yours George. Were they an option on Canadian Pontiacs back then?

That's the main reason that I give many of these events a "pass"

Canadian or American 57 Pontiac's never offered any type of bumper tip. Many folks put the 57 Chev rubber tips on there but the dealers never offered them as an option. I just could not help myself. I put these chrome bumper tips on there because they look like they belong there. They are actually 57 Chev (custom) bumper tips and they were never offered to Chev or Pontiac in 1957. I know they are not original but i really feel they belong there.

If i had a choice between staying at home and watching TV or cutting the grass or going to a quality car show, i would rather go to a quality car show and spend some coin. There was live music all day, the goodie bag was excellent, there was mega tons of quality cars and i met and spoke to many fine old car folks. To me that makes the coin worth spending. It all depends how much you actually value the old car hobby and its many good people. I have my limits though, for example i would never spend $40.00 to go to Autofest in Oshawa. As great a show as that is, spending that kind of money is out for me. Cheers.

...agree Pete....$10 is my limit....where else do you pay to provide the entertainment.....about 25+ years ago we were in the ISCA

and the show providers at the International Center in Mississauga actually paid us travel money and free admission...times have changed

George, I know how you feel but $ 50 bucks in gas back & forth, + admission + extras that pop up puts a sore taste in my mouth, a donation to their charity works for me but GOUGING at the gate, NO CARS NO SHOW. Forget the bands, what's wrong with a oldies station on the PA, or ??? cut your expenses, put a donation box out, charge the spectators who have no investment in the cars, & maybe a $ 5 entrance fee????

yep, noticed that many events this summer charged for showing your car then let the spectators in free!

it's why I never took mine to the Barrie Flea Market - Haney always charged (he called it preferred parking - LMFAO), guess the others have learned from the master...

The trouble with trying to charge the spectators is that most of these venues aren't fenced in but rather open on all sides. Kind of hard to police the public's entry. So to generate money they charge the participants.

The lure of possibly winning a trophy isn't much of a carrot.

Have we entirely derailed this thread yet???

I can't believe that a mere $15 entrance fee keeps all you millionaires away from these events. Maybe the fact is the guys who own these cars are dying off, just saying.

Sometimes it isn't the money just the principle.
