door slightly dropping upon opening

hey guys my passenger door is slightly grinding upon opening.it is not bad at a stage where i have to slam a little harder.it used to close very easily.upon taking the post latch off i noticed it has a hard rubber guide with a spring that might wearing out.questions 1 could this be the culprit, question 2 can it be bought and replaced.ps door pins seem to be good hardly any slack, thanks

my guess it's the hinge pin bushings that are worn out...

I'd replace them before the hinge wears too badly

Agreed, usually it's a bad bushing that causes door sag.

Check when you are closing it if the body lines line up properly just before it latches, or does the striker on the body pull the door up into line?

open the door if it drops it is the hinge ...try moving the door when open up and down to see if it has play at the hinge. the pass side hinge rarely wear out  make sure the hinge bolts are tight and that the stricker  plate is tight to

The bushings are still available from any GM dealer, part number 9721917. If you don't have a dealer close by, I'm sure an Autovalue or NAPA parts store can help you by crossing the GM number to a jobber number.

Ok, I think the Canso is a way different hinge than the Beaumont. It's a cast type hinge, right? I don't know if anyone makes kits for those.

From what I remember when doing mine. The door hinge bushings were plastic! Took mine apart and went to local jobber(with hinge) and replaced with brass bushing. Just can't remember if I had to drill out the hinge for the new bushing...but thinking not.
