A friend and I have been discussing solid lifter 66 427 Canadian Pontiacs. I know a few years back there was talk on here about them and someone mentioned that there had been one either southern Ontario or maybe it was BC, I forget. Does anyone have any concrete evidence of one from the days gone by? I'm not talking about any other years, 66 only, and not talking about any other engines, i.e. even the hydraulic lifter 427's. I know there's at least two of the "regular" 427's existing in 66's that are matching numbers.

I know my friend has talked to someone with an idea of how many where made (he said it was a pretty low number) so I am guessing he or someone he knows must have gotten that from Vintage.

I can't recall, I was hoping someone here would remember the details. I know we talked about it, maybe a few years back? I tried searching here with L72 but no luck.

Just put that out for information, we tried to track down the elusive story of 396 engines in Canadian 1970 GTO's too, lots of speculation but no proof. I think the only situation we had any proof on was 302's being installed in Firebirds sold by Conroy. With L72 being so rare in USA Chevrolets you'd have to wonder why and how a Canadian Poncho would get one.
There's a small glimmer of hope on this topic. I talked to a guy at work today, and he remembers the car. He's going to try to come up with the owners name that owned one of them. I'll report as soon as I get any new info !
