neat project... ill have to go looking for some old photos of my grandfathers old Pontiac... he had one same colours many years ago. i remember he had 64 ss hubcaps on his long before he ever had a 64ss (he always wanted one from the time he first saw one in 1963)
She's coming along nicely! I like the wheels with the caps and trim rings. Goes to show you don't have to invest in an expensive set of aftermarket wheels to have "the look"
ended up cutting out and replacing a part of the passenger floor pan since it was a bit "soft" when i pulled the interior out.........
rubber floor smelled bad and wasn't in the greatest of condition either, so i'm ordering a new carpet. Spent a couple of hours last night going over all of the new floor/trunk repairs with seam sealer as well cause why not?! lol
-FINALLY have the fuel tank and new copper lined fuel line installed.
-Ran all the new wiring for the stereo/amps
-started rebuilding the q-jet
-started bodywork as well....fingers crossed there are no major surprises
Yah, I'll jump in here too and remind everyone of the old "copper isn't for fuel and no fuel in the interior, regardless" rules. I know you said copper -LINED- which is likely just fine, I'm not sure what that is. Steel with a copper lining? But what's the lining for I wonder?
The big reason to avoid copper is that copper work-hardens from flexing. I don't even use it for oil pressure gauges, and neither does the factory - my GMC truck used a steel line.
My memory is maybe not what it should be but I thought the factory line from the engine to the firewall connection on my Acadian oil pressure gauge had been copper. I may well be wrong though. I know there was a union at the firewall and the line that went inside the car was steel, but I though the underhood half was copper. I am likely wrong about that.

I've certainly -seen- copper used there but in every "original" vehicle I've owned with a gauge the line was steel. The 69s are electric for oil pressure if you have the US gauge pack.
My GMC truck was an unrestored original I bought from the elderly original owner, and it was a time machine. It had a steel line as well. That's about all I know, nothing official. If I had a digital version of the US parts book I could look up what the police car oil pressure gauge used, but I bet it's electric anyway.
so she's alive and running and stopping under it's own power which is always pretty cool.
I'll snap a few good pics tonight to update, but mechanically speaking it's DONE. (other than the q-jet/intake, but the 2bbl works fine for now) a bit of wiring to the rear to clean up but that's it. I bent up the new exhaust system last night and installed it all and fired it up and let it run a while.
Went with old school glass packs and side exit exhaust........i know not everyone likes the sound and/or look but i've always been a huge fan of it. If i get tired of it i'll just bend up some more pipe and re-route it out the back.......
hey all! Hope that everyone is doing well. Have been sidetracked on work and other projects and life...........
Finally back on track with the parisienne though. Pulled the whole interior out and it's being reupholstered as we speak. Also replacing the carpet, redoing the door panels/rear deck, and then stereo install. Completely rebuilt the q-jet i had on hand and put it on the car along with an aluminum intake i had kicking around. Sounds MUCH healthier and also has the look i want.
Started to sand the paint to see what i had underneath and as i feared, there were some issues (especially with the rear wheel wells.......go figure). Cut and welded all new metal in and shaped it as close as I could using the skirts as a guide. Then filled over with good Zgrip fiberglass and shaped it again. Car is now epoxied and I need to do a bit more fill on some low spots and some more shaping. THen will come a couple coats of 2K poly primer and lots of blocking.........
Then paint hopefully next week!

super excited to report that i now have paint on the car!
I let the mrs pick the colour since she's been helping out quite a bit and tolerating me being at the shop lol. We painted the roof/trunk Onyx Black and the rest of the car Lava Red then lots of clear over everything. It's a subtle 2 tone, but i'm quite pleased with the way it turned out. Got a couple of runs and some dust in the clear, but nothing that i can't take care of. Going to wetsand and buff the whole car, put all the trim back on, and then ceramic coat it once it cures properly. Still have to get the interior installed, stereo and new speakers wired, sound deadening, shifter, etc

'64 Parisienne CS "barn find" - last on the road in '86 ... Owner Protection Plan booklet, original paint, original near-mint aqua interior, original aqua GM floor mats, original 283, factory posi, and original rust.
getting it back together.........car is also finally all wetsanded. I hit it with 1000 in the problem areas to get rid of a couple sags and some bugs. Then went to 1500, then 2000, then 3000 trizact. Luckily got away with just the 2000 then 3000 on the sides as they were pretty much perfect.
Going to start compounding and polishing tonight and keep plugging away on the trim install! need to do a final polish on the bumpers and trim as they got pretty dusty sitting around all winter.......had them looking perfect in November LOL
Hoping to have the exterior all back together by the end of the weekend.

exterior all back together..........got the door panels back on as well so that's a start. Still working on mounting the shifter in the floor as it was originally a column shift and then VERY poorly converted to a cable operated console shift sometime probably in the late 70s.....i'll get her though
Once the shifter is in, i can start putting the carpet in and then all of the seats. Touch of wiring to clean up under the dash still, and double check the wiring running to the rear of the car
well she's all together. Got out for a shakedown run and overall went fairly well....turns out my vaccum actuator on the transmission is no good and there was also a small vacuum leak there as well. Got that fixed up but haven't had time to try her out again
Still have to get the stereo installed and finish/tidy up the console and a couple interior things, but overall it's good!!!
