Beaumont Ignition Switch

A fellow a few towns over has a 68 Beaumont and is looking for an ignition switch.

Since these are different from a Chevelle anyone know where we can get one or two?

And btw - why are these different?

If you don't already have it, the GM part number for it is 1116693 if that helps with the search.

Looks like it fits 68 Beaumont and Lemans only.

And there's a repro one on ebay right now for $47.99 US which I would think is not bad.

I'm pretty sure you can get them at any GTO classic car parts supplier.

I searched more after I posted and as you say, there's lots of them for sale online. Seems to be a common item in the reproduction world.

BJ, it looks similar to the one on my 63 Parisienne. Mine has that plastic ring on the outer edge, the Chev does not have that. You can see on the one on ebay, the threads on the front are short like mine to fit the bezel tight when you install it. With the Chev one, the threads are much longer and won't work with the bezel. It won't tighten up.
The other difference is the posts on the back, there are more on the Pontiac and they are in a different layout. The Chev has different gauges, I think that is one reason for more posts on the Pontiac switch.
