For sale 1980 Buick Skyhawk. Always been in the family. Came with 3.8 L Buick automatic. Currently has 350 small block with all correct engine mounting and hardware original engine is included in the price
Those things would work good with a 350, I think they came with a smaller V8 as an option and maybe a 4?

Mahone Bay, NS Still not old enough to need an automatic
The original small block in 55 was a 265, then became a 283, etc.
Rockauto lists the Buick with only a 3.8L V6, a 231. The Monza they list with a 262, 305, or a 4 cylinder, depending on the year. I'm like you Carl, these years motors were not ones I remember well.

I had one and hot rodded sbc 262 V8, wild Hooker headers that were at least three pieces each side, fly eye air cleaner on a 400 sbc carb off a Kingswood Estate and Accel ignition. Turbo Corvair mufflers , you could hear me coming for blocks. It flew but didn't stop too well with those Vega non-finned rotors and heavy V8 up front. . I learned how to do brakes by owning that car. I recall heading up ON HWY 400 on a cottage run and a Corvette wanted to pass me, I pounded my foot to the floor and the little Monza kept door to door with it. Another time a Buick Estate wagon was clicking over at the gas pumps. I offered the owner a boost, he was well dressed businessman on way home form work one cold snowy evening, he sort of chuckled, No son this has a 455 I don't think its got enough juice. I asked him if he wanted to get going or hang around for the CAA. When I popped the hood he said Holy Eff, that thing could power a small town! Needless to say he was underway in short order.
