Outside colours on the inside?

So, was trying to find the interior colour for my car. Starting to think that GM would only have GM colours in stock and on hand. I know it's a pain to find the interior colour for you car but thinking GM would only have there colours on hand for that year. Looked at my interior colour and it sure looks like 66 exterior colour(mist blue). Any rhyme to my reason?

They usually have thier own color codes

dash panels they always say to go flat,  interiors surfaces about 50% gloss

here is the interior chart for blues in 1966

Not an expert, but I've noticed that paint code sheets have different codes for exterior and interior colours.  For example, here are a couple from 1966 Chevrolet from autocolorlibrary.com.  I assume that the GM colour people would have formulated standard interior paint codes that complimented the exterior colours, but could be used with a variety of shades (of blue, for example).
