You can buy a really good vehicle tracker on Amazon for $69. It uses the Rogers cell network. Hooks up to a 12 volt source and can be hidden under the dash. You can track your vehicle on any computer or cell phone. The cell subscription is $200/year. I have seen them work and they are great. You can see your vehicle in real time on a map with a speed readout. Here's the link:
So you pay $69 for the tracker, $200 subscription and then use your regular cell phone that is on a contract with Rogers? That doesn't seem awful. Peace of mind for a reasonable price.

a cow and a horse in the yard is a theft deterrents, they make so much noise at night if someone comes in the yard you cant help but wake up. but I do like the idea of tracking my vehicle , especially when the kids start to drive
Carl, the tracker only uses Rogers cell service for the unit itself. Your cell phone can use any carrier as long as you have a data plan as it's simply an ap that's used. Or, if you don't have a smart phone you can use your home computer.
So either way it's $200/year and 69 to buy it. I like the idea. It sure would give a guy peace of mind with an old car. Or even on newer cars, although some of the new car theft deterrents are pretty darn good. (and some of them suck)
