A question for StriperSS

I'm asking this online rather than in a PM because there may be others doing something similar.

John, sometime over the winter I'm going to install blue coloured decals on the raised "Trans Am" emblem on the doors of our T/A. I bought the decals precut to fit the emblem precisely. The emblem is nice and flat, smooth, painted. To install these, do I install them dry? If so, I have to be super careful to get the decal lined up perfectly on the emblem.

Or can I spray a soapy water mixture on there like I did when I applied the hood and trunk stripes, then squeegee it out?

Hi Carl,

I'll do a photo tutorial when I get home. I do them dry, as moisture is usually not good on small stuff.
I'm in Red Deer tonight. Hope to be home on Sunday.

Super, no hurry at all John. I knew you would be able to explain real well what the proper way is.

I'm glad I waited. I was tempted to just spray the soap and try it but one thing about getting older, I think things through more often instead of just doing it!

I've always been like that ... lying awake at night, or daydreaming, going through ideas and scenarios.

One thing that may help in the install is making sure the heat is "up" in your garage, and the added careful use of a blow dryer, but John probably has more experienced/better ideas.

I keep it around 14/15 degrees in there. We'll see if John says that's enough. If not, it's easy to make it 20 in there, especially these days when it's still above freezing a fair bit.
