was the firewall on a 65 not originally body color? The trunk also looks off with the grey paint over sprayed on the wheel wells. This remind me of the 65 convertible in the okanogan (estate sale) that Jeral posted a couple of years ago.

Yes to both of those.
I think years back a lot of us, including myself, made these common mistakes when redoing our cars. And the US information is so wrong for us, but that was all we had back then.
