Changing fuel tank on a 57 Canadian Pontiac. Have a new tank from 57 Chev to replace old one. Tanks are the same other than the vent tube on original that runs up the filler neck and no fitting for one on new chevy tank. Can the vent line be plugged on old filler neck without causing too much headache or should a new fitting be installed for vent on new tank. Thanks in advance

looks like a chevy one uses a rubber hose ?

That might solve the problem if filler neck is same diameter and there is a way to attach the vent hose to the tank. Not jumping out at me from photo. Thanks
