Second owner. Rebuilt numbers matching motor, runs great. Needs full Restoration frame is bad, Canadian car. Have all paperwork warranty card protecto-plate and owners manual. 12500 Please call or text 416 887 4030. Comes with some spare impala, caprice and big block gm parts.
Back in the 70's, a 427 was just a gas guzzling boat anchor, like a 409, it probably got parked after something broke or engine was worn out. Rare body style, very rare motor. Both the 409 and 427 were only available for 4 model years, I'd guess they sold more 427 cars though?
I'd say a well rebuilt 427 might be worth close to $12,500?

Interesting one for sure, definitely worth a restoration.
As to how it could end up in this condition, it wouldn't take much. Driven during winters when it was 'just a car' could do it in within just a decade from new. Given that it's a 50 year old car it could have been well cared for in its early days but maybe at some point in its life it was just left to sit outdoors. Doesn't take long for a frame to rot out if it's sitting on damp ground, given that they are just steel with paint on it, and can collect dirt and grime in several areas, which holds moisture pretty well.
I'm always amazed how a car like this is still around after 50 years... perhaps because it's a numbers matching big block car. If it was a six or a small block it probably would have been parted out or crushed years ago. Even then, how many full size big block cars were sacrificed for their engines 20 or 30 years ago?
The nice thing about this one is it was sold (and maybe built?) in Canada. I'd love to see the GM docs on this car.
Yes & yes.

It looks to have the red paint fill on the 427 emblems, a Canada-only thing. Just like the colour change on the '68 Canadian Pontiac V8 badges where the 427 badge went from red to yellow-ish.
It doesn't say which transmission it has, leading me to think it is a TH400. Tall 2.73s are default. Judging by the master cylinder it appears to have power drum brakes; power steering, front fender running lights a la Caprice, which means light group.
Imagine a B07 Police package, 140-mph speedo, full instrumentation, h.d. seats, F41 suspension, h.d: cooling, fan, electrical, 3.07s with the TH400 for acceleration combined with long legs. Then there were the U.S. Baldwin-Motion Biscaynes...
You could say I have a thing for plain blue Biscaynes. It inspired me to turn this 4-door in the 67 brochure into a nice 2-door 427 F41 N10 car through Paint Shop Pro, shown below:
This car has been for sale for months . Seller will not provide anymore pictures than what was shown . Informed me that it has an Impala rear bumper on it . This was in TO area its whole life, and will need a new frame ( and I'm sure much more ).
I'd be interested however the seller would need to be a little more helpful in providing required info..He is very vague , and not too accommodating. I'm sure if this car was real and half decent it would have sold long ago.
Has anyone on this Poncho site has looked at this car yet ?... would love to hear their feedback
(For that kind of $ and work required , there is a #'s L72 4spd 69 Impala SS427 project on eBay right now for much less)

Had to replace the frame on my 67 when it was 12 years old. Put 3 inch channel iron down both sides of the frame so I could take it on our Honeymoon to the East Coast. Was able to source a 67 Station Wagon frame with disc brakes.
I was told Central Chev in London raced a 427 Biscayne which prompted Sinclair Pontiac Buick to bring in three 427 4 speed Strato Chief's in '68. Back in 2003 I worked as a "Service Executive" at Canada's only Cadillac-Hummer dealership. One of the "Sales Executives" worked at Sinclair back in the day and showed me a photo of one of the three Strato Chief's. He owned the car for a short time. I wonder if any of these survive?
I wonder how #'s matching it really is? I to would like to know how many 68 427 biscaynes were built? For my 67 they came back with "less than 29".

Andrew, is the less than 29 auto and 4 speed combined?
Yes I believe so, that is just for that model # so it should include both manual and auto. I may send my info again and see if they can break it down some more.

if you talk to them on the phone before sending it in you can ask if they can give you that info. What day was your car built? My 67 427 Caprice was Feb. 14 I think

I know of a 67 Biscayne 427 sitting in a barn in the Edmonton area. Not for sale.
Do you know any details of the car? Is it a 4 speed car? Original #'s engine? Thanks

A friend of mine had a 68 Biscayne with the 427 425 hp with 4:56 gears that was purchased of the lot from a dealer in Toronto when it was new.. Just recently a former owner was contacted by someone who has a complete list of all COPO cars that were sold in Canada and this Biscayne was one of two with the 425 hp engines The car was dark blue with black interior. I will try and find own which dealership he bought the car from. The person inquiring about the car really new a lot of history of the Canadian COPO cars.
Al,There were 2 68 L72 biscaynes ordered by dealer #95517.I think this dealer was Belmont chev out of Toronto. One car was black [aa] and the one that went to Timmons was dark blue[ee].Both came with F41,G80,J52,L72,M21,Q04,W84 and the blue one had U63.The black chev is in Paris ON.It needs extensive care.Bill Rudow
