Escape to Vancouver Island

Winter on the Island

My wife and I decided to investigate Vancouver Island for Feb in Parksville and Mar/Apr in Victoria.

We love the beauty of the Island, a nice break from Manitoba winter and the prairies.

However, we woke a few days ago to attached, just can't seem to escape, thought it rained here !!!

A break from the prairies eh.....

That can't be a picture of the island, I always hear it never snows there.

You picked the coldest week so far this year to come out here, LOL. was 15* last week.

we have about an inch of snow here in Cobble Hill, between Duncan and Victoria.

Won't last long though. Maybe we can get a group meeting together in Victoria?? Jim??

Im just a few miles south of you in Port Townsend, Washington today and there were a few snowflakes here too. Still warmer than the Okanagan though. Going to try out Palm Springs on Friday. Car auction there Saturday.

We are getting it here in Langley this afternoon. Had about an inch so far.

Last week it was 10 C. This week it has been 0 to -5 c. Suppose to go on for a few more days.

I don't think Jims home from work yet! Sooke road is apparently a parking lot with all the snow we got!

Jim probably had to sleep at work.More than 1/2" of snow they close all roads and shut
down the island.No-one knows how to drive in that without chains on.

I think you will be fine as long as you don't run outta beer.

Don't tell Jim or your screwed. Hell he"d probably

steal a team of huskys for his little red wagon to get there.
