67 Parisienne Underhood insulation

Does anyone have some good pics of your under hood insulation?

Perhaps some close up pics of the fasteners that hold it in place?

Should it be glued in as well with contact cement?

Can new ones be purchased?

If so from where?

Thanks ,Greg

I have never seen underhood insulation in a 67 Parisienne. Possibly in the US Catalina's & Bonneville's, but never in a Cdn car.

That's a good question. I put it on my black car (meaning they make insulation, clips, and that our hood has holes for it), but have never seen it on a factory car.

On the other hand I had Bonneville Brougham Convertible that I just sold this year and I don't think it had it either, and that's about as high as you can climb the tree in a Pontiac.

Anyone know how and why and to what models underhood insulation was optioned out?

REM  out of Pennsylvania manufactured most hood insulation's. Many 60's cars use a rectangular clip,; some were  glued in such as the Camaro, Nova, Chevelles. Can't remember if the Pontiac was glued or not ?  I think we sold the Catalina pads for the Parisienne. Most after market suppliers should be able to order it for you. Count the holes in your hood to determine the number of clips. When installing the paper backing goes to the the hood.
