hey carl , ive been using gloss epoxy in a rattle can from vht but dry it out in the sun in the summer seems to be take the supper shine off just right
What I did for my 70 GTO I used tremclad 1/4's and added flat to the gloss paint until I got the desired gloss. Alternately tremclad spray bomb gloss is about 90% gloss, semigloss is about 60% and the flat is about 5%. Not concours but pretty good for a driver.
For concours the blacks actually aren't black but depending on the vehicle and area they had tints of blue or green if I recall correctly. I have no interest in doing a car at that level but some do.
Last option is to get a single stage mixed black from paint shop and experiment with adding flattener. I added some to the verdoro green I had left over from my 70 and sprayed the dash and rear window opening.

Interesting, all the gloss's I've seen have been super glossy, it just looks wrong. I'll have to check around Winnipeg next time in and see who has VHT.

I've used Tremclad semi gloss to touch up wiper arms on my newer ('97 and '07) cars and it seems to have the right sheen for them. I don't know if that's what you're looking for on your '66 but if you look at the level of gloss on most wiper arms that might give you an idea of the sheen for that paint (??)...
Sorry Carl but Johnnee is right and have to agree. Great paint and has the right tint to it.Can be bought at CT. Now he has to say something nice about me!
Paint it black, and drive it to get a layer on road dust on it. I sound like 427Carl
I like Duplicolor spray paints.

I like Duplicolor and Krylon. Try some and then if its too glossy use a 800 of more grit to take the sheen off to suit your eye?

I spent a few hours in my favourite wrecking yard yesterday and picked up the correct rad spacer for when I put the big block in my car. Now I need to paint it too. I have to figure it out but I think it may be the same sheen as the air cleaner.

Nice Nova you got there!
Thanks.......but you apparently don't know Canadian cars very well. You need to spend more time on CP instead of those F$@d sites!

My local auto parts store has Plastikote. I tried a can of "Trim Black". Pretty close, but I'm not 100% happy with it yet. I can't get it to lay on as smooth as I'd like but I'll keep trying. I didn't paint it in very good conditions.
