do you have a metal tag number on your carb you have now? They may be the same for many years, or almost the same.
The Carburetor Shop in Missouri has the best kits and may have something in a usable core. They don't do rebuilds any more, but his kits have leather accelerator pumps, not neoprene which IMHO is junk with ethanol fuel. They tell you its good with ethanol, but most people see them fail in 6 months.
Jon will likely only sell you something if you have the correct tag number off your present Rochester.

Thanks for chiming in. It has an autoline rebuild tag and recently done, so I have no way of positively identifying. Its a suspect rebuild, I think done on a Friday afternoon when the guys wanted to go home. Screws all loose throughout, Choke housing really loose and leaking so wasnt sucking warm air through the tube off manifold. Linkage sloppy, thermostatic coil is wrong, lean and rich arrows pointing the wrong way. I am weird, stuff like that drives me nuts.
Have corrected what I can and it is satisfactory...
Havent removed yet to measure bore to see if correct for 261 vs. 235.
If I can get a known to be correct rebuildable unmolested core Ill get it redone by a good provider such as that you suggested, and keep my current one as a spare.

That is very unusual for Autoline. I've sold them at the counter for over 30 years and have had pretty much flawless performance from them. I'm surprised. Is it possible someone tinkered with it because it was rebuilt, used very little, then sat a while and was gummed up?
I plan to send my Qjet core to them for a rebuild and have full confidence in it coming back working great.
And the usual disclaimer applies, I've been wrong before!

Remembering back in the day of carburetors, the shop I worked at, we rebuilt in house and only replaced with Autoline when absolutely necessary. We got way too many flooding due to improper float height. It got to a point that before it went on, the top came off and float height rechecked. Also some of the throttle shafts were worn more than the core we gave them.
Carl, maybe they are better now but if your core is good I would get it custom rebuilt.

I have a 1961 Carter carb for a 261. Car was automatic trans. Carb # 3114S. Carter kit is CK524. Hope this helps. Tag on my carb is 3114s and it comes up as a 1961 261 when I googled it.
